Location and surroundings
”La Grancia” Country Resort is centrally located among the Val d’Orcia, the Val di Chiana and the Crete Senesi, in a hilly area largely devoted to the cultivation of wine & olive-oil. The surrounding land is interspersed with small vineyards, olive trees and thick woodland. The resort lands are dominated by the Grancia, a fortified farm complex dating from the XIV century, built on the edge of the small, medieval village of Montisi.
Many artists have chosen to live here, for the uniqueness of our place and the inspiration they can get.
From Montisi it is easy to reach towns, villages and abbeys of great historical and artistic importance. Particularly worth visiting are Siena (50 km), Pienza (12 km), Montepulciano (18 km), Montalcino (27 km), Monte Oliveto Maggiore (15 km), S. Antimo (33 km). Florence and Rome are just little further.
There are also many pleasant walks and cycle routes in the area . "La Grancia" can provide mountain bikes on request.
